So, just like my sister, I used a portion of my PFD check to buy a new computer. Unlike my sister, though, I got one with some muscle at the expense of portability. Well, it is still a laptop, but it's a lot heavier than her netbook.
It's an HP G70. 17" monitor, Intel Core2 Duo processor @ 2.1GHz, 4GB DDR2 RAM, 320GB HDD, and a 256MB nVidia GeForce 9200M GE video card. Unfortunately it is running Vista (Home Premium 64-bit), but that's only until I redeem the free Windows 7 upgrade. Sweetest laptop specs I've ever owned (in terms of relative "top-of-the-line-ness"), but still nowhere near top of the line.
Primary purpose of this laptop: Computing while sitting on my nice comfy couch in the living room. So, doesn't need to be extremely portable, although I will be taking it places from time-to-time (e.g. India when I leave in 2 days).

Oh, forgot to mention the built-in 2.0 megapixel webcam+microphone. Will be nice while I'm in India and [private]'s not.
