[private] chimed in on this in person to me once, but I want to get it in record so I can refer back to it when I get confused... :)
What's the difference between hibernate, stand by, and sleep? In terms of power consumption, in terms of computer readiness/"wake up" time/any other trivia?
I almost never shut my computer down. I'm on and off it so often it seems silly. Plus, it takes its sweet ass time to start up (bless you Windows--I mean, screw you Windows), so it's just a lot easier.
I always leave my computer in stand by mode when I'm not actively using it.
