Problem: my laptop turns off when it is unplugged, instead of going to battery power.
Explanation: I just moved. So my computer was packed up. I don't know if this was a problem before I moved, so maybe something got jostled the wrong way? But it's a laptop, it's meant for moving around...bah.
The battery is sitting on a 37% charge, and no matter what I do, it won't charge more. It also won't even turn on when it is unplugged.
My roommate, who is a computer geek, mentioned that with some batteries, if they run almost dead but not quite, and then you charge them, they could die and need to be replaced.
Anyone have a less costly solution??
