Using Past Patterns 106. The pattern is nowhere near as curvy as that picture, of course. I modified it to make it more curvy, using a size 14 bust and hip, and a size 10 waist. Finished measurements should be appx. 34.5" midbustline, 23" waist, 36.5" hip. Depending on how this one comes out, I'm thinking about selling it (although I love love love the fabric. I may have enough left to make another, or at least an underbust, in the same.)
Originally I was set on a green ribbon in the insertion lace trim, to make it less.. saccharine. However, Joann's are a bunch of punks and didn't have the size I needed in the color I wanted, although they did have a slot, and they would have charged me $7 to special order. Ha! So I dinked around for a while and came up with a crimson color in all necessary sizes (1/4" for the lace trim, 5/8" for the lacing, and 1 1/2" for the bottom binding.) Then I went back for other reasons, and they had the sage green in 1/4". Yay! They didn't have it in 1 1/2", but they had it in 7/8" so I picked that up as well as the 1/4" and 5/8". Then I found some nice wide cotton bias tape in a very close match, and decided cotton binding would look better on the bottom of a cotton corset. So if I decide to go with the crimson, I'll have to go find bias tape in a crimsony color. And all of the extras will make me a happy happy woman. I loves me some trims.
So, crimson or sage?
One side of the fashion fabric (I'm making it in a separate layer from the lining and strength layer, which means more careful sewing but also no stitching from boning channels or waist tape showing through.)
