I really don't understand why all the young libertarian types are still rallying hard for Ron Paul, while completely ignoring Johnson. The latter is far better on social issues, and as such, should be much more relatable to the young'uns. On these issues, Ron Paul is a) basically a Christian conservative (though he doesn't tend to play this up), and b) one of those old-schoolers who clings to such notions as the Civil Rights Act violating his ideology. He's also very grandfatherly.
Johnson, in contrast, is only 58. He doesn't toe the right-wing line on social issues. He's pro-gay marriage, though I'm not sure about his position on abortion (it's not on his web site). He doesn't seem to be thoroughly doctrinaire in his libertarianism. Oh, and unlike Paul, he has executive experience.
I don't agree with Johnson on everything, but he seems head and shoulders above Paul. Why no love?
