Now that we have so much baby laundry, the electric dryer is killing our power bill. Maybe we should look into replacing it with gas - the washer and dryer are in the furnace room so it should be doable. The stove I'm less worried about.
When we were doing energy-efficiency upgrades on our home, the salesperson said replacing our hot water heater with a tankless one wouldn't be worth it, because they are expensive to buy and install and don't save enough money to be worth it. But that was 3 years ago, they may have come down in price.
We upgraded our attic insulation, which is supposed to be a good way to save on heating costs (we had it done before we moved in, so I couldn't actually say how much it saved).
