I have some theological base for where I'd like my answers to be
that's a start, but, no offense, that seems like a backwards way to go about answering these kinds of questions. your theology should be something you arrive at, not something that gives you a destination you have to justify. at least that's the way i see it - if my theology tells me that i should end up believing/feeling/knowing X, i can figure out the justification later and keep acting on X. but if i arrive at X independently, it backs up the theology.
of course, that approach "feels right" for you. which is basically my justification as well....i just don't understand how one can start with the ending answers and backtrack. if i decide "murder isn't a good thing" and then backtrack, i can justify it as easily as "murder is a good thing."
being able to explain something to yourself - much less someone else - is the best way, imo, to make sure you really understand it. a teacher who can't teach doesn't know the material. a person who knows the material can teach it to others, y'know?
i'm always suspicious of things i seem to hold true that i can't explain to myself, much less anyone else.
