The Mario Bros game looks like it could've been playable on the Wii...no need for an expensive new console. Most people who want a tablet type thing probably have a tablet or 3DS or something--it seems a bit much to buy a specialty tablet thing exclusively for a console. That's what makes this system expensive.
I was in [private]s R Us a few weeks ago and overheard one employee saying the original Wii is out-selling the Wii U at the store this holiday season. They had lots of Wii Us sitting around; there definitely wasn't a mad rush for them.
