The primary point, though, is to shed light on the sheer stupidity inherent in the notion of the "post-9/11 era" and that the world is somehow more dangerous now.
In point of fact, terrorism is less of a threat today than it was 20 years (not, however, due to anything coming from the monumental wastes of money DHS and TSA), and even then home appliances posed a much greater threat to life and limb than terrorism. If people had their heads on straight, we'd have a "War on Blenders", not a "War on Terror"!
