They bought an HD-DVD player knowing that there was a format war with Blu-Ray. They knew full well that one or the other would lose and become obsolete. They went decided not to wait and went ahead and put their money behind the format that ended up losing.
Should they get a refund for backing the losing format?
No! That's just ludicrous. I can't even fathom why anyone would seriously think that they should get a refund. It's ridiculous!
