Posted by Eire Dreamer at 3:30pm Mar 8 '06I got myself into a lot of hot water today in my PoliSci class over this.... We were talking about world governments and which ones seemed to work out the best for the people. (Basically democracy-promotion that I had to pay $45 a unit for.)
I made the statement that communism, on paper, is the best government for the people. It allows all members of a society to be cared for by their government, it allows everyone to have what they need, rather than just a select few getting everything, and it supplies the people with a sense of security, because they know their government won't sell them out for the almighty dollar. I was met with both gaping mouths and blank stares....
So, I'm putting the statement to people on here. Even in the short time I've been here, you've all proven MUCH more intelligent than anyone I've met at the college, so I'm hoping I can get SOME kind of response, be it good or bad.... I believe that communism is the ideal government... the problem with it (that I've seen) is when we involve human nature and the greed each individual feels. So, if we could have a communistic government WITHOUT that selfish corruption, do you believe it would work? Why or why not?
