As a northeastern liberal, shouldn't I have met some of the silly people you're talking about? Yet, I have never. I cannot recall ever meeting, nor even hearing about from others, a person who might suggest the Big Bang is sexist, for example. The very notion is outlandishly stupid, and anyone I went to school or the professors I've had would have a good laugh at something like that.
So maybe I don't understand. Is your point that such a class of people truly exists (in any appreciable numbers), or that red state folks just believe they exist because some people have documented some really weird cases out there and presented them as the rule, not the exception?
