Some better news than we've had in recent months: an estimated 204,000 jobs were added in October, despite the government shutdown. This is significantly more than economists expected. September's jobs number was revised up to 163,000 as well. August was also revised up. The unemployment rate went from 7.2 to 7.3%.

In related news, there was also a strong GDP report released this week. Overall, some good news amidst the slow economic recovery.
