why hardly any laptops with SSDs?

Dropping an SSD into a laptop would be probably the best performance enhancement one could make, plus it'd be quieter and more energy efficient. Yet even most high end laptops lack one. I find this annoying. It seems manufacturers focus on larger drives instead. What if I don't need a 1TB drive? Laptops aren't great for using as large capacity storage anyway. I want SPEED.

I'd like to see an SSD laptop in the ~$1,000 range. 128GB minimum, though 256 would be preferred. This should be a common option! I notice a few laptops have a small "express cache" using SSD technology, like 8GB - 20GB in size, but I'm not sure how great that is.
